ZONTA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

AMELIA EARHART FELLOWSHIPS

Established in 1938 in honor of famed pilot and Zontian, Amelia Earhart, the Amelia Earhart Fellowship is awarded annually to women pursuing Ph.D./doctoral degrees in aerospace-related sciences or aerospace-related engineering. The Fellowship of $10,000, awarded to 35 Fellows around the globe each year, may be used at any university or college offering accredited post-graduate courses and degrees in these fields. Since the program’s inception, Zonta has awarded 1,438 Amelia Earhart Fellowships, totaling more than $8.6 million, to women from 70 countries. Amelia Earhart Fellowships are made possible by generous contributions to the Zonta International Foundation Amelia Earhart Fellowship Fund. JANE M. KLAUSMAN WOMEN IN BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP

Established in 1998 from a generous bequest by Jane M. Klausman, a member of the Zonta Club of Syracuse, New York, and the 1990-1995 Zonta International Parliamentarian, the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship is awarded annually to women pursuing undergraduate or master’s degrees in business management.

The program operates at the Zonta club, district/region and international levels. Zonta clubs provide awards for club recipients. Zonta International awards scholarships of $1,000 each at the district/region level and twelve international scholarships in the amount of $7,000 each. YOUNG WOMEN IN PUBLIC AFFAIRS (YWPA) AWARD

Established in 1990 by Past International President Leneen Forde, the Young Women in Public Affairs Award honors young women of age 16 to 19 who demonstrate a commitment to leadership in public policy, government and volunteer organizations. The program operates at the Zonta club, district/region and international levels. Zonta clubs provide awards for club recipients, and district/region and international awards are funded by the Zonta International Foundation. District recipients receive $1,000, and ten international recipients are selected from the district/region recipients to receive awards of $4,000 each. RAYMA NEEB ADULT RE-ENTRY SCHOLARSHIP

The Rayma Neeb Adult Re-Entry Scholarship was established in honor of local founding club member and former District 9 Governor, Rayma Neeb, to assist women who have entered or re-entered a community college or university after at least a 4 year hiatus in order to enable themselves to be self-sufficient. This scholarship is only offered through the Zonta Club of Phoenix/East Valley. Deadline for submission to our Club is March 31 of each year.
